Answers:

  1. Why is it important to use an all-natural product? We made our first all-natural products 16 years ago and since then it seems the rest of the world is taking notice. There have been numerous studies conducted about potential negative consequences of some popular and widely used chemicals. In addition, we now understand much better that what is put on your skin can get into your bloodstream. Using products laden with petro-chemicals, petroleum distillates, silicones, harsh emulsifiers and preservatives is not a good idea. (back to list)

  1. Why are natural sunscreens better than traditional ones? Our Titanium and Titanium/Zinc blends are the perfect sunscreens. They reflect Ultra Violet Rays of the sun whereas chemical sunscreens absorb UV after hitting the skin. Our natural sunscreens are much more efficient and better for your skin and body. (back to list)

  1. Why don’t you have an SPF 45 or even higher? Because of the way our sunscreens work by reflecting Ultra Violet rays. Our maximum SPF’s (15 & 25) will protect better than chemical sunscreens with much higher SPF numbers. Using our reflective sunscreen is like having a big umbrella for protection in a rainstorm. Using chemical sunscreens is more like having a big sponge … it may work, but not as efficiently. (back to list)

  1. Do I need to use sunscreen daily? Daily use is recommended because UV exposure (particularly UVA) is constant. By the way, chemical sunscreens and SPF numbers only relate to UVB light. (back to list)

  1. What is the difference between UVA and UVB sunrays? UVA light penetrates deeply into the skin and is most responsible for long-term skin damage. Some researchers think UVA may be the main culprit for some of the worse types of skin cancer as well. UVB light does not penetrate deeply and is most responsible for tanning and burning. (back to list)

  1. How do I use the products? We have a simple and useful method in proper product usage. It’s called the 3-P’s (Protectors, Promoters, Prolongers). Protectors are used on sun sensitive areas (anywhere the bone is close to the skin), Promoters are used on the rest of the body and Prolongers, our aloe products, are used everyday head-to-toe. (back to list)

  1. Which products should I use for the 3-p’s? It depends on your skin type (Click here for a skin type chart) Fair skinned people will use a higher SPF as a Protector and a moderate SPF as their Promoter. Those with a good base tan can use a moderate SPF as the Protector and one of our tanning oils as a Promoter. (back to list)

  1. Is there really a right (and a wrong) way to apply your products? There sure is. Most people think you just rub the product quickly onto your skin and that is 100% wrong! When applying your Protector, dab the lotion on and when applying the Promoter, “lay” it on. After 60 seconds or so, you can blend it into the skin. Rubbing any of our products quickly into the skin can leave you unprotected and/or without the benefit of our nutrient rich formulas. (back to list)

  1. Why is it beneficial to use your Rosehip Aloe everyday? Our famous Rosehip Aloe is a super moisturizer and keeping the skin properly hydrated is the key to getting a tan, maintaining your tan and for healthy, supple, young looking skin. “lay” it on preferably after a warm shower. (back to list)

  1. What is the philosophy behind your spa products? We use only the best cosmetic grade raw materials and have innovative, luxurious formulas. So good, in fact, that we are the predominant supplier of spa products to some of the world’s most exclusive, destination resort spas. No expense is spared in bringing you the best spa products … massage oils, butter, scrubs, bath salts, crèmes and lotions… in the world. (back to list)

  2. Why is your shampoo, shower gel and hair conditioner only 99% natural? All of the main ingredients are derived from natural sources … for example all the cleansers are from coconut and there are generous amounts of Wheat Protein, Aloe, Sweet Almond and other fine ingredients. We use a mild form of a preservative called Germaben (under 1%) to meet FDA standards for personal care products. (back to list)
