Benefits of Echinacea

We want to help consumers better understand our product formulations, so we'll discuss what we put in our products and what we leave out. We do the research and translate the science, so you can make more informed choices for your family.
This week's key ingredient: Echinacea
What's in it? Echinacea contains a variety of naturally occuring plant nutrients including polysaccharides, betaine, essential oils, and flavonoids. These components are responsible for many of the plant's traditional and researched benefits.
The benefits: This purple flower, also known as coneflower, is native to Northern America and has long been used for it's ability to support a healthy immune system. Part of what makes this herb widely valued is its antioxidant and soothing properties.
Because of this, echinacea is often included in formulations designed to calm and support the appearance of stressed or irritated skin. It is especially popular in products intended for dry or environmentally challenged skin.
As with all botanicals, echinacea works best as part of a thoughtfully balanced formulation.
