Showing Local Love: Our Commitment to Bowen Aquarium
We've got some news to share. Absolutely Natural just became a founder of the Bowen Aquarium that's being built at Port Canaveral, Florida. It's a big commitment, and one we're genuinely excited about.
If you haven't heard about this project yet, it's worth knowing about.
What's This Aquarium All About?
The Bowen Aquarium is going to be a 14-acre waterfront campus right here on the Space Coast, dedicated to marine conservation and coastal ecosystem restoration. It will act as a regional conservation hub focused on the Indian River Lagoon and our estuaries.
It's actually the second campus for the team behind Brevard Zoo. Remember when over 16,000 people volunteered to build that zoo back in the '90s? Same community driven approach, just this time focused on ocean conservation.
Expected to open in 2028, this facility represents a major step forward for marine conservation in Florida.

Why This Felt Like a Natural Fit for Us
For over 30 years, Absolutely Natural has been creating skincare products that are safe for people and the planet. We've built our business on the idea that what we put on our skin and what goes into our waterways matters. From our reef-safe sunscreens to our commitment to sustainable ingredients, protecting marine ecosystems has always been part of who we are.
So when we learned about Bowen Aquarium, it wasn't a hard decision. This project aligns with everything we've stood for since we started in Melbourne back in 1992.
The Indian River Lagoon needs serious help
We've always been mindful of what goes into our waterways. It's why we're careful about the ingredients we use. The Indian River Lagoon has been struggling for years, and this aquarium will be the home base for real restoration work. The kind that actually moves the needle on water quality and ecosystem health.

Sea turtles and manatees need better facilities
We've supported sea turtle rehabilitation and rescue efforts for years because these animals are vital to our coastal ecosystem. The East Coast Zoological Foundation already runs the Sea Turtle Healing Center, and they're doing great work. From what we understand, Bowen Aquarium will provide expanded facilities to help rescue and rehabilitate more animals.

Better educational resources
When Bowen Aquarium opens, local schools will have access to hands-on marine science education. Teaching the next generation about protecting our oceans and coastline? That's an investment in the future we believe in.
It's good for the local economy
As a family-owned Florida business, we understand the importance of supporting our local community. More tourism means more business for our neighbors. It means quality jobs in marine biology, education, and conservation right here in Brevard County. That's economic development we can support.

The Restore Our Shores Connection
If you've been following Restore Our Shores, you know they've been working to restore the Indian River Lagoon. Bowen Aquarium will be their permanent headquarters, giving them the space and resources to expand their restoration efforts.
For a company that's built its reputation on creating products that don't harm marine environments, supporting an organization actively restoring those environments just makes sense. For those of us who live here and care about clean water for enjoying our coast, this expansion is significant.
Inspiring the Next Generation
There's something about direct experience with marine life that resonates with kids. Having this resource here means local students grow up with access to real marine science education and learning firsthand why protecting our oceans is important.
We've spent three decades making products that protect coral reefs and marine life. Supporting an aquarium that will teach future generations to do the same feels right.
The aquarium won't open for a few years, but we're looking forward to seeing it come together, and we're glad to have our name attached to it.
When you operate a business in a community, you're part of that community. Supporting projects that protect the environment we all share is the right thing to do.
That's showing local love.
